DESCRIPTION:Saturday, April 117:30 – 8:30 p.m.Center for Performing Arts - Proscenium Theater  Javier Nero is a jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator whose musicianship has received significant recognition. Currently based in Baltimore, MD, Nero is busy as both a bandleader and sideman in the greater DMV area. He performs as part of the popular music ensemble the U.S. Army Blues, a big band composed of some of the nation's most talented musicians. Nero recently joined the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University as the jazz trombone and arranging and harmony teacher. He released his sophomore album featuring a full jazz orchestra, "Kemet," in summer 2023. The album features nine original compositions and two arrangements for a full big band, along with special guests Randy Brecker, Sean Jones, Christie Dashiell, Warren Wolf, and Tim Green. The ticket office staff is trained to help guests select the seating that best meets their individual needs. The main entrance to the facility is equipped with power doors, each of the venues has an accessible entrance, and house managers can direct guests to the accessible entrance closest to their seat.
