The Office of Government Relations and Community Outreach, the College’s Community Garden, and the College’s Student Garden Club came together to celebrate Earth Day at the College’s Community Garden. They were joined by external volunteers from the Prince George’s County Master Gardener Program, who contributed their time and expertise. Together, they nurtured the garden and strengthened the roots of community collaboration.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, the Office of Government Relations and Community Outreach, the College’s Education Department, the College-wide Forum Community Involvement and Outreach Committee, and the Community Liaison Group joined together to read to students at Lake Arbor Elementary School. Their collective efforts provided students with an engaging and meaningful reading experience. The College also donated books to Lake Arbor Elementary School. This community outreach initiative not only fostered a love of reading, but also reinforced the College’s commitment to community engagement.

On February 13, 2025, Prince George’s Community College students participated in the Maryland Association of Community Colleges’ (MACC) Student Advocacy Day in Annapolis, Maryland. This annual event allows students to meet state legislators, share their experiences, and advocate for legislation that supports community colleges. Prince George’s Community College students connected with the Prince George’s County House Delegation members to discuss key issues impacting community colleges.

PGCC and the Law Office of Vernon Brownlee partnered to provide turkeys, canned goods, sweet treats, blankets, books, and book bags to Shepherd’s Cove Shelter, the Prince George’s County House Men’s Shelter, and the Bridge Center at Adam’s House. This collaboration exemplifies the power of community partnerships in making a meaningful impact and supporting individuals and families in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
