Largo, MD (May 8, 2025) – Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) will host its 66th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
“We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2025,” said President Falecia D. Williams, Ed.D. “This achievement reflects their resilience, determination, and the many hours of dedication they’ve invested. At PGCC, student success is at the heart of everything we do, and Commencement is a reminder of what’s possible.”
More than 1,500 graduates are expected to cross the stage this year, with the College awarding 1,308 degrees and 315 certificates. The Class of 2025 includes 350 students graduating with honors and 180 graduates from the Early and Middle College Programs.
PGCC’s 2025 Distinguished Graduate is William S. Flores, a 20-year-old first-generation student. After finishing at PGCC, he plans to transfer to the University of Maryland, College Park, where he will major in public policy and minor in marketing. He aspires to run for Congress or governor and has entrepreneurial goals.
During Flores's time at PGCC, he was actively involved in the Southern Management Leadership Program, received a Promise Scholarship, participated in the Honors Program, and served as a Student Senator during the College-wide Forum in 2023.
Additional speakers include Falecia D. Williams, Ed.D., president of Prince George’s Community College; Tomeka Bumbry, chair of Prince George’s Community College Board of Trustees; and Patricia J. Armstrong, Ph.D., chief academic officer and provost of Teaching, Learning, and Student Success.
