Largo, MD (January 29, 2024) — Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) announces two new additions to its senior leadership team: Dr. Patricia Armstrong, Chief Academic Officer and Provost, and Mr. Jim Adkins, Vice President of Financial Services and Operations.
"Adding Dr. Armstrong and Mr. Adkins to our leadership team is a momentous step forward for PGCC," Dr. Williams, President of PGCC, said. "Their collective expertise and shared values will help us continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students while ensuring the long-term financial health of the College."
Dr. Armstrong, formerly of Kennedy-King College, brings extensive experience in academic leadership. She is committed to student success and innovative learning. Her dedication to fostering collaboration and inclusion will guide PGCC’s efforts to deliver innovative and impactful learning opportunities. As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Armstrong is passionate about equitable and accessible education, always striving to enhance student outcomes.
Dr. Patricia Armstrong will lead PGCC's efforts to deliver innovative and meaningful opportunities as the College's chief academic officer and provost.
"I am honored to join the PGCC community and look forward to working with faculty, staff, and students to create an environment that fosters success and innovation," Dr. Armstrong said. "Together, we will build a dynamic academic experience that promotes inclusion, collaboration, and excellence in every aspect of student life."
Mr. Adkins, previously the Executive Director of Finance at the University of Texas at Austin, brings a proven record in financial management and operational strategy. His experience in financial management and operational strategy has shaped large, complex institutions, including Portland State University and Indiana University.
Mr. Jim Adkins will lead with his financial management expertise as the College's vice president of Financial Services and Operations.
"I am eager to help ensure that the College remains financially strong and operationally efficient so we can continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities for all our students," Mr. Adkins said. "I look forward to collaborating with the PGCC community to strengthen our financial health further and support the College’s growth and success."
With their combined expertise, Dr. Armstrong and Mr. Adkins are poised to contribute to PGCC’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
