Dual Enrollment for PGCPS 11th and 12th Graders
Move toward your college degree while still in high school. Prince George’s County Public School students can take classes for college credit.
Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) will pay tuition for all students dually enrolled in qualifying courses, as well as fees and textbooks.
Important Dates
- March 17: Summer 2025 and Fall 2025 Applications Open
- March 24: Summer 2025 Registration begins for returning dual enrollment students
- March 31: Summer 2025 Registration begins for new students; 2025 Fall Registration opens for returning dual enrollment students
- April 7: Fall 2025 Registration begins for new dual enrollment students
- April 25: Priority deadline for Summer 2025 Registration
- June 11: Priority deadline for Fall 2025 Registration
- May 27: Summer 2025 classes begin
- August 18: Fall 2025 classes begin
Concurrent Enrollment
For Private, Homeschooled, and non-Prince George’s County, MD, Resident 11th and 12th Graders
Private, homeschooled, and non-Prince George’s County, MD, resident students can participate in the concurrent enrollment program, which is identical to the dual enrollment program. Eligible Maryland resident concurrent enrollment students will receive a 50% tuition discount as part of the program, reducing the cost of college significantly.
Note: Your school will determine if and how to award dual credit for courses completed at PGCC.

Eligibility Requirements for Dual and Concurrent Enrollment
You must meet the following criteria to apply for either dual or concurrent enrollment:
- Be a high school junior or senior.
- Have at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Fulfill our college course placement requirements (GPA, Accuplacer, SAT, or ACT).
- Meet all deadlines.
- Be in good academic and financial standing at PGCC.

Talented and Gifted Enrollment for 8th, 9th, and 10th Graders
The Talented and Gifted (TAG) program allows younger students an opportunity to take college courses as early as 8th grade.
Eligibility Requirements for TAG
You must meet the following criteria to apply for either dual or concurrent enrollment:
- Be an 8th, 9th, or 10th grade student.
- Be designated as talented and gifted.
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Score non-developmental on all three sections of the college’s placement exam or provide acceptable multiple measures to satisfy college readiness.
- Meet all deadlines.
- Be in good academic and financial standing at PGCC.
