RES-333 Introduction to Residential Property Management (5.4 CEUs)
Cost: $495 (includes $180 lab fee)
Only offered in the fall semester. This course is designed to introduce students to residential property management. First, students examine how and why residential property can be a good financial investment. Next, students explore the different types of residential property and the possible ownership structures. Students also learn about various operating policies and procedures for leasing rental properties. Additionally, they explore the roles of managers, leasing agents, and supervisors, and how personnel are hired and managed. Next, students examine how marketing and awareness of cultural diversity impact attracting and retaining tenants. Lastly, students interpret how local, state, and federal laws impact property management. This course prepares students for entry-level positions as leasing consultants or assistant property managers. Instructor: Raquel Phillips. 30 sessions.

RES-318 Maintenance and Residential Property Management (4.5 CEUs)
Cost: $525 (includes $200 lab fee)
Only offered in the spring semester. This course prepares students to develop and implement maintenance systems for residential properties. Students examine the components of and learn to write a maintenance program. Students develop a budget for repair, maintenance, specials, and big-ticket items, and learn to determine whether renovating or upgrading a property would be a wise investment. Additionally, students analyze how environmental factors, energy, and water conservation impact the maintenance program. Students analyze ways to minimize risks in property maintenance through the use of current rules and regulations. Lastly, students explore how to staff for maintenance, both in-house and through contracts. Students summarize their knowledge and skills by writing and presenting a full maintenance plan. Recommended prerequisite: RES-333. Instructor: Raquel Phillips. 30 sessions.

Online Classes: Learn on Your Own Time Online
Students taking an online class can access course content 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and engage in discussions using Canvas with their instructors and fellow learners. Instructors will set deadlines and due dates for assignments, tests, projects, and other coursework.
Remote Classes: Learn in Real Time
Students taking a remote class will meet online via the Canvas platform at scheduled times. Students will access learning materials, view assignments, and participate in discussions via Canvas.
