Seasoned Adults Growing Educationally (SAGE) is a tuition-free program for senior adults aged 60 and older.

SAGE offers engaging courses at various locations throughout Prince George’s County and online via Zoom. This affordable program helps seniors stay active without high costs. Maryland residents aged 60 and older pay only a $40 registration fee per class.
Note: Registration fees do not cover lab, computer, or supply costs.

Credit Courses
Maryland residents aged 60 or older are exempt from paying tuition and instructional fees for credit courses at the start of the semester. Other fees, as applicable, include:
- One-time $25 application fee
- $25 registration fee per semester
- Special fees (e.g., music fees)
- Cost of any required textbooks
Continuing Education Courses
For courses listed in the Continuing Education Schedule of Classes with an asterisk (*), Maryland residents aged 60 or older are exempt from paying tuition at the start of the semester. Other fees, as applicable, include:
- $40 registration fee per class
- Special fees (e.g., music fees)
- Cost of any required textbook or materials
Scholarships
SAGE students may apply for scholarships to cover additional classes beyond the first two. Only courses listed in the SAGE class schedule are eligible.
Courses Overview
Our SAGE courses include some of the following subjects:
Art
Learn watercolor, oil, and acrylic painting. Other topics include drawing, studio fine arts, ceramics, pottery, stained glass, and art history appreciation.
Computers
Get an introduction to computers or learn intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and online navigation and research.
Finances
Learn how to manage your finances and estate planning.
Healthy Living
Get active with aerobic fitness classes, arthritis exercises, strength and weight training, dance, Pilates, and tai chi. Also, learn wellness tips and self-manage chronic diseases.
History
Explore environmental, local, national, and global history—along with European culture and historical perspectives—through film and literature.
Languages
Learn French, German, Italian, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
Literature
Study the classics at large and analyze specific authors or genres.
Music
Study opera, pop, piano, and music history.
Writing
Learn creative, autobiographical, and poetry writing.
