PGCC Active Clubs 2024-2025

PGCC is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels welcomed and empowered in all aspects of the PGCC experience. All students are invited to participate and join any clubs recognized by the college, and PGCC policy requires all clubs to accept interested students regardless of race, gender, or any other protected characteristic. Below is a listing of active clubs and activity descriptions.

African Students Association (ASA)

The African Student Association is a vibrant community aiming to educate and promote awareness of African culture and traditions. This club also provides entertainment showcasing African countries' different cultural aspects, fostering a sense of inclusion and connection among its members.

Body of Christ Club at PGCC

The Body of Christ Club at PGCC is a welcoming space that allows students to engage in fellowship, worship, prayer, and study biblical principles. Its goal is to raise disciples of Christ who walk in love and knowledge of scriptures, creating a supporting environment where all are welcomed and accepted.

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is a dynamic student-run organization that breathes life into the campus with its co-curricular programs, enhancing community engagement and fostering a vibrant campus culture. 

Clay Club

The Clay Club provides a space for artistic expression in the form of ceramic arts.

Computer Science Club

The Computer Science Club aims to empower students, advance their programming expertise, engage them in innovative tech projects, and connect with peers and professionals in the computer science field.

Criminal Justice Advocates (CJA)

Criminal Justice Advocates helps students majoring in criminal justice or its related fields explore more investigations, law enforcement, and forensic science to learn more about these areas. Members can participate in mock cases and hear from guest speakers. The club also promotes justice, fairness, and ethical practices in different cases. Members who join will develop critical thinking, research, and advocacy skills.

The Debate Club at PGCC strives to foster critical thinking and empower members to express their opinions confidently.

Elysuik Soundscapes

Elysuik Soundscapes presents a student-led and oriented musical ensemble that caters to listeners. This club also offers a unique perspective on typical music genres.

Engineering Club

The Engineering Club provides a space for engineers to network, build skills, and engage in career-specific activities.

Gaming Club at PGCC

The Gaming Club at PGCC endeavors to provide opportunities for students who share a passion for video games to foster connections and engage in collaborative activities. This club organizes various gaming-related events, including game nights, tournament competitions, and charitable initiatives to raise funds for multiple causes.

Gardening Club

The Gardening Club aims to create a communal garden that addresses food insecurity, promotes healthy eating habits, and contributes to environmental sustainability while fostering a sense of community on campus.

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code aims to provide an association for females in computer science and a conducive environment to demonstrate and explore their skills.

Grizzy Vitality Club

The Grizzy Vitality Club aims to provide a holistic approach to personal growth, focusing on physical fitness, mental well-being, and academic success. This club offers gym memberships, organizes events, and provides resources to its members, empowering them to strive for their best.

Hacker Space Club

This club provides students with cybersecurity skillsets and technical resources to promote their professional networking.

Kaleidoscope Club

The Kaleidoscope Club creates a space for international students to network, find support, and voice their needs and concerns.

Muslim Student Association

The Muslim Student Association allows students to unite in a supportive Muslim environment. The club also seeks to dispel misconceptions about Islam by educating the local community.

NAACP Chapter at PGCC

The NAACP Chapter at PGCC is dedicated to ensuring the political and educational equality of minority groups, actively working to eliminate racial prejudice.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization. This club provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. 

This club seeks to end stigmas that make it hard for students to get the mental health care they need. NAMI helps students connect so they can share common experiences and support each other through the challenges of attending college.

OWL Student Newspaper

The Owl Student Newspaper is the student information portal for news. This club informs students of vital information through social media.

OWL Success Squad Ambassadors (OSSA)

The OSSA program aims to cultivate a campus culture of academic support, engagement, and excellence for new and returning students. This club assists students with their first-year experiences and supports their academic journeys while attending the College.

Reflections Literary & Arts Magazine

This club engages, inspires, and informs the college community through publishing literary and art works.

Sozo Club at PGCC

This club was founded to care for students' mental and physical health, aiming to have a positive impact on their well-being while attending the College.

Star Fellowship Club at PGCC

This club was founded to raise future Christian leaders and impact their world through Christ while abiding by the College's laws.

Student Art League

The Student Art League serves as an off-class community for artists supporting each other and providing a safe place for freedom of expression. Ultimately, this club will allow members to network and make lifelong friends with each other.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official governing body for PGCC students. It serves as the student body's voice, advocating for students' interests in spaces where they cannot.

Student Nursing Club of Prince George's Community College (SNCPGCC)

SNCPGCC was founded to positively impact nursing students through various mentorship engagements. It aims to cultivate a nursing practice community where members can learn from each other.

Student Research Club

The Student Research Club gives PGCC students experience to improve their research skills in preparation for better academic transfer and job opportunities. This club also sets up a forum for accessing research opportunities and makes resources available to students through faculty mentors. It also provides peer-to-peer support and partners with local research organizations.

The Teachers' Lounge

The PGCC Teachers' Lounge is designed to support students interested in education through networking, service projects, and student engagement.

Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS)

This club aims to provide students with education, mentorship, and networking support through the WiCyS community. This club also promotes and increases interest in cybersecurity careers.
