Send Recent Placement Test Scores to PGCC

Prince George's Community College (PGCC) will accept some placement test scores taken for other accredited institutions and apply them to your student record. You will be able to use these transferred scores to register for courses. The College only accepts proctored scores from ALEKS-PPL and ACCUPLACER tests taken within the past four years.

Transfer ACCUPLACER Scores Online

Please see this page or read the official PDF with instructions on how to send placement test scores to PGCC or any other institution that uses ACCUPLACER. Then, use the ACCUPLACER student portal to transfer the scores.

The College only accepts the following ACCUPLACER test scores for placement:

  • Reading
  • WritePlacer
  • Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics (QAS)
  • Advanced Algebra & Functions (AAF)

Students with Writing scores may be required to take the WritePlacer test, and students with Arithmetic scores may be required to take the QAS test at PGCC.

Other institutions may use different ACCUPLACER tests. Please confirm score transfer rules at other institutions before sending or requesting any placement test scores.

Transfer Proctored ALEKS-PPL Scores Online

If you took a Proctored ALEKS-PPL math test, you may be able to send or receive math placement scores yourself. If you can log into your ALEKS-PPL account from Prince George's Community College or another institution, use this ALEKS-PPL score transfer guide to transfer scores. The ALEKS-PPL school code for PGCC is 79E5AAD. Please note that the College can only accept proctored scores.

If you send PGCC ALEKS-PPL scores to another institution, you will need their ALEKS-PPL school code to transfer scores. Please ensure that other institutions will transfer or accept ALEKS-PPL scores before requesting or sending them.

Authorized Placement Test Score Transfer

If you cannot use the ACCUPLACER or ALEKS-PPL websites to transfer your placement scores to Prince George's Community College (PGCC) or another institution, you may request an authorized MCTA transfer. Follow the steps below, in addition to any rules from the other institution:

  1. Contact the other institution, and confirm whether they will send scores to PGCC or receive scores from PGCC. Make sure that your scores are no more than four years old. Keep contact information for both institutions.
  2. Print the MCTA Test Score Transfer Form. At the top, check only the "Requesting scores to be sent..." box. Fax numbers and staff names are not required by PGCC.
  3. Complete and sign the Student's Contact Information section. Institutions will not transfer scores without your signature.
  4. Complete the Score Recipient section with information for the institution that will receive placement test scores. Do not sign this section.
  5. Complete the Testing Institution section with the contact information for the institution where you originally took the placement test. They will send placement test scores. Do not sign this section.
  6. If possible, submit the completed MCTA form to the institution from Step 5 in person. Otherwise, follow these instructions:
    1. Scan a PDF or take a clear, readable picture of the completed MCTA transfer form.
    2. Attach the PDF or picture to an email to the institution from Step 5, along with anything else they require for a score transfer.

Additional Notes about Score Transfers

  • If online options fail, the PGCC Testing Center can send most ACCUPLACER and ALEKS-PPL scores to other institutions using the authorized transfer process.
  • PGCC only accepts and sends placement test scores that are less than four years old.
  • Before initiating a transfer, confirm whether the other institution will send scores to the College or receive them from it.
  • Follow all rules and procedures from PGCC and the other institution.
  • Always follow up with the institution receiving scores after a score transfer. If you used the authorized process above, this is the institution from step 4.
  • You may still be required to take all or part of a placement test after a successful score transfer. PGCC cannot always transfer placement scores. Other institutions may not accept placement scores from the College.
  • PGCC's self-placement codes and other internal placement systems are for exclusive use by the College and will not be transferred.
