Eligible participants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing an academic certificate or associate degree and demonstrate a need for academic support, including graduation and transfer to a four-year institution. Participants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  1. First-generation college student – Neither of the student's parents have earned a bachelor's degree in the United States, or the student has been a ward of the student or experienced homelessness.
  2. Low-income student – Income eligibility is determined by the program based on U.S. Department of Education guidelines. Students may also qualify if they receive public assistance, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), or Vocational Rehabilitation funding.
  3. Student with a disability – The student has completed an intake with the PGCC Office of Disability Support Services for a physical, emotional, or cognitive disability.

Entrance into the program is based upon meeting the outlined eligibility criteria, along with demonstrated academic need and potential for graduation with an Associate degree and transfer to a four-year institution in a period no greater than three years from entry into the program. Additionally, all decisions will be based upon available space.
