Where Culinary Careers Begin

The PGCC Culinary Arts Center opened in 2018 as a full-service facility to provide immersive, hands-on training for students pursuing careers in culinary arts, food service, hospitality management, tourism, and event operations. The facility spans over 21,000 square feet and features an array of amenities to integrate real-world experience into the learning experience:

  • Three training kitchens
  • Interactive demonstration kitchen
  • Community kitchen
  • Beverage mixology room
  • Instructional classrooms
  • Convertible event spaces
  • Administrative offices

These spaces are designed to replicate professional culinary and hospitality environments for students to develop practical skills.

A Flexible Learning Space

The Culinary Arts Center is a purpose-built learning environment that includes training kitchens for hot food preparation, cold production, and baking and pastry instruction.

Flexible event and function spaces allow the Center to also operate as a small dining hall, meeting venue, classroom, or reception area. These spaces support activities such as product sales, institutional dining, special events, and facility rentals.

Professional Development and Personal Enrichment

The Culinary Arts Center provides a strong foundation for students entering the workforce or continuing their education. Through hands-on training and an emphasis on professionalism, graduates leave prepared to grow and adapt within the hospitality industry.

Pursue a Culinary Arts Career

Our Culinary Arts program provides students opportunities to pursue professional certifications or associate degrees in culinary arts and hospitality service management. Students may complete one- or two-year programs earning between 30 and 60 academic credits toward certificates or associate degrees, preparing them for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.

From Classroom to Kitchen

Through hands-on instruction in live production kitchens and simulated service sessions, students gain experience that mirrors real-world food service operations. Program outcomes include mastery of foundational and advanced culinary techniques, experience working in professional kitchen and service environments, and knowledge of food safety, sanitization, and industry compliance standards. Students can expect to develop essential workplace skills and be prepared for entry-level employment.
