Mission Statement
The Office of Policy and General Counsel provides high-quality, well-informed, and comprehensive legal counsel or assistance on matters concerning College operations and contributes to effective College governance in a manner that emphasizes the safety, well-being, education, and development of its students and employees.
General Counsel
The Vice-President for Policy and General Counsel is the College’s in-house attorney, responsible for ensuring the College’s compliance with state and federal laws and regulations; responding to requests for information, subpoenas, complaints, and other forms of legal process; and proactive thought partnership with the College President and other members of the Senior Team to steer the College towards fulfillment of its strategic goals while advising on known and anticipated matters of legal concern.
Office of Compliance
The Office of Compliance oversees the College’s handling of Title VI, Title IX, and ADA matters and coordinates the development and implementation of College-wide policies and procedures.
Office of Risk Management and Insurance
The Office of Risk Management and Insurance promotes a culture of risk management and safety throughout the College community by conducting building and systems audits, processing claims related to personal and property injury, maintaining the College’s insurance policies and relationships with insurers, and reviewing contracts and certificates of insurance.
